I had a dream where the Martian communists from the 1908 Russian sci-fi novel Red Star invaded the Earth during the Cold War and NATO had to form X-COM to fight the Soviet-Martian Pact. Also I think they were shape-shifting squid-insects or something. I think X-COM launched a counter-invasion of Mars ... if I ever make a map out of that, this would be a handy resource! :P
