Red Shift

My take on what would have happened if the Entente won the Great War. My theory is that Germany becomes a communist state, as they were on the brink of a communist revolution before winning the Great War, while the United States becomes a theocratic, pseudo-Freedomite dictatorship. I have the Central Powers winning their version of the Second Great War, first by instigating a communist revolution in the Russian Empire (effectively conducted by the invading German armies), crushing the CSA and Canada in North America, and then bringing down Britain and France. 

Of course, the two victorious powers turn on one another. Unlike our Germany and United States, the Union of European Workers' Republics and the Holy States of America are ideologically opposed on a fundamental level, and cannot tolerate coexisting with one another. The Japanese, who never have a Fourth Pacific War to lose in this timeline, form another bloc. Each major state is an oppressive dictatorship, akin to the Entente powers of the SGW, and the Holy States in particular has completed a population reduction program against the Mormons of Deseret. All three powers have massive arsenals of superbombs and sunbombs, and so cannot afford to fight a third great war, as this would destroy all three of them.
