  • The Entente launches its mass offensive against the Middle East. Amphibious landings are made on Kuwait, the Sinai, Qatar and Oman. Anti-Nazi rebellion explodes, especially when the Entente (at the urging of the United States) declares full independence for the local people. The Germans are caught almost completely by surprise. A furious Hitler orders a general retreat to the Middle East and orders the replacement or, in some cases, execution of commanders in charge of the Middle East.
  • The Entente continues to advance in Scandinavia, and opens up a front on the Kola Peninsula. Rebels of all stripes join them.
  • An entire Nazi army is encircled in the Congo. This failure, combined with the attacks elsewhere in the Nazis' empire, forces Hitler to order a general retreat in Africa. Collaborationist troops surrender as soon as they meet the Entente, tired of fighting what they now see as the losing side. Hitler decides to "punish" the collaborationist French (who supplied a bulk of the troops in Africa) by abolishing the French government and annexing it into the Reich. This causes mass riots throughout the country (aided by government officials and collaborationist military who have suddenly found themselves jobless and at the mercy of the Reich). Even a communist rebellion (popular since the Nazis make a big deal about communism, which hasn't been discredited as IOTL) sparks up.
  • With manpower needs elsewhere, the Nazi garrisons in the "pacified" east begin to be emptied. This proves to be a huge mistake on the Nazis' part, as Jewish, Russian and nationalist rebels take this opportunity to liberate forced labor camps and begin a guerilla campaign right outside Hitler's doorstep.
  • Ungern von Sternberg continues his Railway Campaign. The campaign sees success when the winter of 1921 claims thousands of Germans lives, either through starvation or freezing. German morale in the Siberian front plummets, as they are absolutely amazed that the Russians still continue to fight. The Russians also manage to capture several airfields and train cars filled with aircraft parts. These are shipped off to Australia, America and Japan for reverse-engineering.
  • The Mark II Gun Tractors perform well against the lightly-armed German forces and tanks, but still face a problem with Flak 88 emplacements and heavier German tanks. Entente engineers hear of this problem and, using the captured German technology, work on longer-range cannons for the upcoming Mark III.
  • By the end of the year, the Entente decide to further distract the Nazis by launching an invasion of the British Isles. With most German forces being reallocated to continental Europe or the newly-opened front, British rebels take the opportunity to start a mass revolt.
  • As Hitler watches his empire crumble before him, he begins to lose whatever sanity he may have had left. He blames Germany's failures on his generals, who given the circumstances "should have won the war years ago." He begins demoting generals and promoting his own handpicked yes men, and begins giving the Waffen-SS more power over the Wehrmacht. Many prominent men in the Wehrmacht who had put up with Hitler because he gave them victory after victory are beginning to see that they are being bossed around by a madman. Rumors of a plot against the Nazi regime circulate within the ranks.
